Falmouth’s Festive Weekend

Every year Falmouth town centre has a special festive weekend to really create a Christmassy buzz, and this year it’s on the 6th and 7th of December. Shops prepare their best window displays for a competition, local performers sing carols through the streets, and there is even a snow machine on the high street – a great photo opportunity! For children, there will also be a curling lane this year to join the artificial ice rink, and a festive land train to hop on and off through town!

A Christmas themed drone display will also be happening on Friday 5 December, 5.30pm at Events Square… we’ve never had this before so it’s a new feature for all of us to enjoy!

Trelissick Gardens at Christmas

A local National Trust property just 20 minutes from Falmouth, Trelissick has spectacular indoor trees in its orangery, as well as a traditional storytelling of a Cornish Christmas in the dining room. The house is decorated so impressively each year, and of course the cafe and shop are open to peruse, perhaps after your walk around the gardens or creekside parkland.

Throughout the month of December there are many local performances, including ‘Falmouth Shout presents The Mousehole Cat’ on 23 December at 1pm. These local shanty singers perform outside in the tipi by the Stable Yard, and we can’t wait to hear them!

Trebah Gardens Celebrate Christmas

On the edge of the Helford River, the gorgeous Trebah Garden also has a range of festive events, for both adults and children. Stories With Santa in the log cabin are happening on

6 & 7, 13 & 14, 20 & 21 December, where little ones can listen to a story and write a letter to the man himself!

For adults there are an array of crafting workshops that look so festive! Christmas Decoration Casting, Floral Wreath Making, and Wooden Wreath Painting are all on offer during December, and if you’re more in the mood for watching than making, ‘A Christmas Carol Dramatised’ will be performed on 17 December as a one-man show with live chamber music accompaniment!

Trebah Kitchen will be serving up their amazing Christmas Lunches every Sunday in December too, and pre-booking is highly recommended.

Mylor Christmas Gift Fair

Elvis Singalong on Christmas Eve!

At The Cornish Bank in Falmouth, the evening of the 14th will be buzzing! “There’ll be no need to feel blue on Christmas Eve as Elvis (Duane) Presley enters the building. He’ll get you all shook up, in The Bank Ghetto. You got lucky — The Touc Inn will be open for a festive tipple and then a little less conversation with two time slots to join in the singalongs!”

Aladdin Pantomime at Hall for Cornwall!

Every year, a trip to the panto in Truro is a must at Christmas time… Edward Rowe (Kernow King) is back, this time as Widow Twerkey, with Dawn French as the Voice of the Genie!
