Please note that Creekside Cottages is an agent for all the holiday accommodation on this website and on this basis will arrange bookings on behalf of the property owner. The contractual relationship is directly between the Owners of the property and the Guest. Creekside Cottages will, on request, provide the name and address of the Owners of any property which the Guest has booked.
Website Details
Creekside Cottages endeavours to ensure that the information provided by the property owners is correct. However, the information may have changed by the time you book so please ensure you check all details of your chosen property. Creekside Cottages cannot accept any responsibility for any inaccurate, misleading or incomplete information about any property.
Your Booking
Bookings Available dates are shown online or available over the phone. A phone call or e-mail may hold dates while you complete the Booking Form and deposit. We are happy to hold dates for 3 days unless we are within 6 weeks of the holiday date in which case, full payment is required to secure the booking.
All Tenancies begin at 4.00pm on the start date and end at 10.00am on the end date, unless otherwise agreed with Creekside Cottages. Every endeavour is made to see that the cottages are clean for your arrival and it is requested that they are left clean and tidy on your departure. Rental periods are for a maximum of four weeks.
Total Number in the Party. In no circumstances may the number of people stipulated in the property description be exceeded and only those listed on the Booking Form may occupy the property. A cot may only be occupied by a child aged 24 months or less.
We reserve the right to terminate the hire without notice and without refund for a breach of these conditions. A child over 24 months counts as a person. There is no charge for infants under 24 months occupying a cot.
Breakages, cleanliness, loss or damage must be reported and paid for before departure. The responsibility to keep the holiday property and all furniture, fittings and effects, in or on the property, in the same state of repair and condition as at the commencement of the holiday and must also leave the holiday property in the same state of cleanliness and general order in which it was found. If damages occur and are not reported the person who made the booking is completely responsible for any costs incurred. You should also be aware that you have a legal liability to pay for any damages you may cause to the property during your holiday.
Forgotten Property is on the occasion found after the guest’s departure. Owners, housekeeper or Creekside Cottages may be prepared to return these items, where a minimal fee of £10 will be applied for postage and packaging, which will be required to be paid in advance by the guest. No responsibility will be accepted for the safety or safe transit of the item(s). Forgotten items may be disposed of without further reference to the guest, so please ensure you take all your belongings with you on your departure.
Optional Extras
Cots and highchairs are available at most properties. Please check at time of booking. We do not supply cot linen – please bring your own.
Boat Outhauls available at Chylorden, Rhinos Barn and The Wheelhouse at £10 per week.
Moorings – inshore at £50 per week and deep water at £80 per week, by prior arrangement only. Please enquire prior to booking. (All moorings subject to availability).
Payments
Deposits
If a booking is made six weeks or more before the start date, a booking deposit shall be requested. The deposit required is 25% of the total rental which is used as confirmation of your booking and to signify agreement of terms.
If the booking is under six weeks before the start date, full payment will be required upon submitting your booking.
The deposit is non-refundable.
Booking fee’s are non-refundable and are added to your booking form constituting a cost of £20, £30 or £40.
Security deposits will be requested at selected cottages, these are refunded to you after the end of your holiday (less any costs for breakages or damage).
If two or more properties are booked these constitute separate bookings and are subject to separate booking fees and security deposits.
Balance of rental is due six weeks before arrival – eight weeks from overseas. A late payment could result in your holiday being re-booked.
Payments may be made by credit or debit card (No AMEX), cheques made payable to: Martin Watson or bank transfer (BACS), please contact us for details.
Changes to your Booking
Any alterations involving re-invoicing will carry a £20 fee payable for each alteration made. Requests for property transfer will be handled as a cancellation.
We do not expect to make any changes to your booking. Occasionally changes do occur during and after bookings have been confirmed. In this event confirmed bookings may have to be cancelled due to circumstances out of our control. Creekside Cottages will endeavour to provide alternative accommodation if available. If this is not possible a full refund will be made.
Cancellation
Cancellations will only be accepted in writing by letter or email.
If the cancellation of the booking is within 12 weeks of the arrival date you will be liable to pay the full rental for the booking.
In an event of a cancellation, we will endeavour to re-let the property for the period concerned but the condition of booking is that full rental be paid if not re-let.
If such re-letting can be arranged, the balance, if already paid, will be refunded less any charges for any additional expenses.
Please note the deposit is non-refundable.
We strongly recommend taking out cancellation/holiday insurance in relation to your booking.
Dogs
Dogs are only permitted at certain properties and may be brought by prior arrangement only at £30 per dog per week or part of. Dogs are only accepted on the strict understanding that they are kept under control, exercised off the premises and are not permitted in the bedrooms or on the furniture, nor should they be left in the property unsupervised as this can result in considerable damage to the property and distress to the pet/s. We would ask everyone bringing a dog/s to follow these instructions implicitly since any abuse will inevitably result in dogs being banned. Do remember to include your dog on your Booking Form.
Please note: If your dog fouls in the garden please pick it up & dispose of it appropriately. Any damage caused will be charged. Please bring your dog’s bed & towels. Sorry, no cats allowed.
Property Details
Duvets, Linen & Towels are included All cottages provide linen, towels and t-towels. A change of linen will be provided weekly for bookings of two weeks or more. Towels are provided on the understanding that they are not be removed from the property, please bring your own beach towels.
Heating & Electric
Properties are inclusive of electricity and are supplied by either central heating, underfloor heating, electric storage or panel heaters. If you wish to know specific further details, please do contact us.
CCTV: Some of the holiday property owners are using CCTV systems for the safety and security of their property and guests. If required, please contact the Owner or Creekside Cottages for details such as the purpose of the CCTV, the data being processed and how long any footage is retained.
Electric Vehicles: Most of our cottages only have a domestic supply where it is not suitable and safe to charge your electric vehicle. It is recommended you check prior to finalising your booking if this is an essential requirement. If you are keeping an electric vehicle at the property, you must use designated charging points (where available) only and manufacturer approved cables for charging any vehicle when at the property. The Owners reserve the right to refuse to allow electric vehicles to be charged at their property and charge additional fees if charging is found to be completed during a stay.
Smoking is not allowed in all our properties.
Insurance
It is in your own interest to take out travel insurance before booking. It is your responsibility to check that your insurance cover is sufficient for your own purposes. If you choose not to, then you accept responsibility for any loss that you may incur due to your cancellation.
Complaints
Any difficulties with the property during your stay must be reported to Creekside Cottages who will contact the owner on your behalf. We are at hand, but our role is that of an arbitrator and in that capacity, we will do our utmost to ensure that any situations are resolved quickly. This is the quickest way of resolving any problems that might occur. In no circumstances will any complaint be accepted if it is brought to the agent’s attention after the holiday letting has ended.
Force Majeure
Compensation payments will not apply where we cannot fulfil our obligations to our owners due to circumstances beyond our control. This would mean any event we or the owner cannot foresee.
Data Protection
To communicate with you we will process your personal data provided, part of this activity will include information about your booking, email marketing, and requesting feedback which will enable us to improve your future experience. If you wish to change the way, we communicate with you please contact us.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
Any dispute, claim or other matter which may arise in relation to your booking will be governed by English law and you agree that any dispute will be dealt with exclusively by the courts of England and Wales.
The Website and these Conditions replace and supersede all previous Websites and Conditions.
