2026 Sailing Calendar for Falmouth and the Carrick Roads!
We know that many of you dedicated sailors come to Cornwall each year for your favourite regattas and events, and we are pleased to host crew, families and friends in our holiday cottages in Mylor and Flushing.
Falmouth Classics Regatta, 12–14th June 2026
Every year we look out for this spectacular three-day gathering of heritage vessels, ranging in design and size from 9ft to over 150ft. Running alongside the on-shore Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival, the event will feature multiple races in the playground of the Carrick Roads, as well as the famous Parade of Classic Boats and The Small Boat Parade
Working Boat Championships, 3-5th July 2026
The Working Boat Championships are hosted by St Mawes Sailing Club, the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club, and the Falmouth Working Boat Association. The classic sight of their distinctive sails is set to fill the Fal Estuary, and the regatta will be raising money for a brilliant local charity, Cornwall Air Ambulance.
Falmouth Week, 7-16th August 2026
More than twenty classes of boat will descend on the Carrick Roads over seven days of racing, from IRC Yachts and Falmouth Working Boats to Mirror dinghies. Six local clubs will be hosting the social events and races for every sailor, from experienced champions to racing novices.
On shore, there will be the classic Falmouth Week favourites; the Ping Wig Parade, the Falmouth Carnival, Live Music night and Friday Night Fireworks!
The Dart 18 Nationals, 22nd-17th August 2026
4 Days of racing on the Carrick Roads, run by a professional team at Coastlands in Mylor. 2 or 3 races are planned for each day, all sailing on the Dart 18’s home waters. To celebrate 50 years of the Dart 18, they have some incredible socials aimed at showcasing and celebrating all things Dart.
Children’s Sailing Courses in Summer 2026
Mylor Sailing School runs RYA Youth Courses every week during the school holidays, from Stages 1-4 to Start Racing and Performance Sailing. Launching into the inland waters of Carrick Roads, this could be a perfect way to kick-start a passion for weekends on the water, or perhaps nurture an existing love of sailing.
Elemental at Swanpool Beach also holds Kids’ Club through the summer, providing a range of multi-activity watersports sessions for children aged 6-14. These include sailing, kayaking, raft-building, team-building, snorkelling, stand-up paddleboarding and coasteering, so plenty to keep them entertained if getting wet and messing about is more suited than honing their skills!
Some other notable dates this sailing season include:
5-7th June: Ajax Championships
20-21st June: RS200 Cornish Championships
4-5th July: RSC Club Championships
25th July: St Mawes Town Regatta
1st August: Flushing Village Regatta
