Detailed Description
Oysters is a homely and well-presented, and furnishings throughout the cottage are traditional in style. Malpas has a popular pub, the Heron Inn, which is just a hop, skip and jump away, which serves delicious food and is the perfect retreat for lunch or dinner.
Steps lead up to the front terrace; the front door opens directly into the sitting room, with a television and DVD player, along with the dining table. At the back of the cottage is the small but extremely well-equipped kitchen, with an electric stove, washing machine, fridge & microwave.
Stairs lead to the two bedrooms, a double to the front with views over the river, a twin bedroom to the back, and the family shower room with a wash hand basin and toilet.
The terraced garden at Oysters, located at the back of the property, steep steps lead up to a sun terrace with spectacular views down the Malpas River. Note access to the private terraced garden is through a shared stairway.
From Easter to October, a small passenger water ferry runs, which you can embark on from the local marina. From here, you can explore the hidden treasures of the Truro River, visit Falmouth, St Mawes or take a walk around the beautiful unspoilt National Trust Trelissick House & gardens. There are beautiful walks from the village along the river up to Truro or follow the meandering river up to St Clement’s and onto Tresillian, perfect for bird watchers.
Slightly further afield are the beautiful Cornish Gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan, situated on the picturesque Helford River, near Falmouth. Or visit the beautiful Roseland Peninsula, which can easily access via a short drive and hop on board the King Harry ferry.
